How does it work?

Full Contact provides identity resolution for all of the disparate pieces of contact information out there on the web. We do this by aggregating billions of contact records, all with numerous attributes, including quality, freshness and frequency. Our patent pending algorithms process all of this data and automatically produce clean, accurate full contact records. As a final step, we then check each data element to make sure that it’s publicly available before providing it to our customers.

Imagine that five people are sitting around a table and each pulled out a contact record for Bart Lorang. One person might have his twitter handle and email address, a second person might have just an email address and image, and the others have various data points. If all of that data were mashed together, as humans, we could put together a "Full Contact" record for Bart with a high degree of accuracy. This is basically how FullContact works, we takes lots of data points and utilize algorithms to logically build clean, accurate full contact records.

Where do you get your data?

We combine information from hundreds of public websites, social networks, APIs, trusted partners and users of our service.

We make a clear distinction between:

Public data, which is information that is publicly available on the internet, or otherwise available in the public domain. We aggregate public data, take into account corrections and feedback, and provide this information to developers that use FullContact.

Private data, which is privileged contact information to which only our customers have access and is not publicly available. In order to provide the FullContact service, we may need to process this data behind the scenes; however, private data is not disclosed to any other FullContact customer without explicit permission.

How do you protect people’s privacy?

We're building FullContact to provide clarity, control and value to the consumer. Your information is being passed around by various companies thousands of times on a daily basis. You currently have no insight into what information is being passed or who is getting it. At FullContact, we make it as easy as possible for you to see, edit and control what information exists and whether or not that information gets passed to others.

We also make a point to vet our customers and we don't allow FullContact to be used with ad networks, ad exchanges or services that tie cookies to contact data.

See http://fullcontact.com/privacy for more details.

Some of the areas that we seem to get the most interest right now are CRMs, Marketing Automation applications, application developers utilizing contact data, and businesses that can improve productivity via accurate, up to date contact information.
