FullContact Person API – Now With More Pinterest

We’re always looking for new and interesting data points to add to the suite of FullContact APIs. Over the past few months we’ve been quietly testing a Pinterest search target that will help to add a wealth of information to our API results. Today we’re excited to announce that the Pinterest search target is available for all FullContact Person API users. Queries to the Person API can now return a Pinterest username and URL, as well as followers and following count.

    "followers" : 82,
    "following" : 27,
    "type" : "pinterest",
    "typeId" : "pinterest",
    "typeName" : "Pinterest",
    "url" : "http://pinterest.com/lorangb/",
    "username" : "lorangb"

Why Pinterest?

We know that Pinterest might seem like an unconventional choice for a search target. But the site’s explosive use says otherwise. According to the annual PewResearch social media demographics report, Pinterest has grown exponentially faster than any other network since its inception.

Further to that, Pinterest users tend to convert better than users of other social media sites. Demographically speaking, Pinterest users are college-educated, upper-middle class women between 30 and 49 years old. For many of your users, this can present a huge opportunity to target and segment.

Want to try it out?

To get an idea of what the new Pinterest data looks like, you can query the FullContact Person API using bart@fullcontact.com. (Queries for this email address won’t count against your monthly allotted matches).

We’re excited to see what you build with the addition of the Pinterest search target to the FullContact Person API. Test it out & let us know what you think!
