This week’s 2-Minute Drill focuses on FullContact Business Card Reader for iOS – our (dare we say it?) awesome iOS app that lets you scan business cards and turn them into Salesforce leads.
There are a lot of business card reader apps out there. But most of them have a big problem – they use OCR. Which means you spend as much time proofreading your scans as you would have just typing them in by hand. It’s inefficient and frustrating – our CEO has even publicly promised to fire anyone attempting to expense a business card scanner.

Video Transcript: How to Scan Business Cards Into Salesforce
Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out this week’s Two Minute Drill.
This week I would like to talk to you about CardShark. This is actually our newest app that we released just a few weeks ago.
Again, it’s CardShark, and it is designed to relieve the headache from business cards that a lot of sales reps feel. You know – and any sales rep knows – you go to a conference, a networking event, whatever, you come home with a pile of business cards, and you don’t know what to do with them.
Well, our app lets you snap a photo of those cards – you can snap a photo of the front of the card, as well as the back of the card and we’re going to capture all of that data, shoot it over to our human transcribers, and they are going to transcribe the business card and put it into your Salesforce account as a lead.
The app lets you take notes on where you met the person, who they are, so on and so forth, as well as uses GPS to target where you were when you took the photo. And again, it just puts that into Salesforce as a lead, so you don’t have to spend your valuable time doing it and follow up with them as necessary.
