It’s On All of Us To Stand Against AAPI Hate

A Message from FullContact CEO Chris Harrison

A couple of weeks ago, I shared on LinkedIn an OpEd that Xiao Wang, the CEO of Boundless, wrote for NBC on the violence against Asian Americans. Xiao’s company and FullContact share an investor in the Foundry Group, and Boundless helps simplify the process of immigration to the United States.

I urge you to read the article, where Xiao shares his personal experience with racism and gives a glimpse into the rising attacks, discriminations, as well as our nation’s dark history regarding the Asian American & Pacific Islander community.

Since sharing Xiao’s article, I’ve read even more articles outlining disgusting acts. The facts clearly state that the AAPI community is being verbally harassed, coughed/spat upon, their homes and businesses are being vandalized, and they are being physically assaulted.  In New York, they saw a 9X increase in hate incidents against Asian Americans in 2020. StopAAPIHate has documented over 3,700 racial and discriminatory incidents within our country in the past year.

StopAAPIHate also found that women reported more than twice as many incidents as men, and businesses were the primary site of discrimination. We do not want FullContact to be included within that list of businesses. As we’ve stated in previous communications, at FullContact we make it a point to be awesome with ALL people. We accept people for who they are. Everyone should feel comfortable being authentic. Every employee should feel free to bring their individual best to FullContact every day. Everyone should feel safe, accepted, and supported by their FullContact teammates.

This Friday, FullContact will be taking a mental health day. This happens to coincide with a call for the AAPI community to peacefully protest. I’ve encouraged all FullContacters who feel comfortable doing so to participate in the protests that are occurring in cities around the country. If you’d like to learn about local actions in a city near you on 3/26 or 3/27, look here

Here at FullContact, we unequivocally support our AAPI friends, colleagues, and family and we stand in solidarity against AAPI hate, discrimination, and racism.

Thank You.
Chris Harrison, CEO, FullContact
