Hello World. We are FullContact.

Hello World! We are FullContact. We provide an API to help solve the world’s contact information problem, once and for all.

Contact information is a HUGE problem. It’s a problem so big that every person and every business in the world faces it every single day.

The problem is that we’ve got a dozens of sources of contact information, but they are partial, incomplete and downright dirty.

For example, on a personal level, I have contact information stored in the following systems: Google Contacts, Google Apps, iPhone, iPad, Mac Address Book, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, MySpace, Friendster, Quora, Email, Calendar Invites, eVites, GroupMe, Skype, plain ol’ business cards, not to mention a myriad of Spreadsheets, Accounting Systems, CRMs and Project Management tools I’ve used along the way.

Imagine trying to merge, sync, de-duplicate and enrich all of this contact information. Now imagine trying to keep it current and up-to-date.

Yep, it’s a really nasty problem. We started FullContact to solve this problem once and for all.

We think we’ll succeed because we are approaching the problem differently than any other company has before:

1) We are focused on building an open ecosystem of software developers and apps that use the FullContact API. Rather than trying to be be a B2C or B2B platform, we’re focused on getting developers to bake our capability inside their apps. Thus far, we’ve got over 750 developers using our API.

2) We realize that human beings curating results by hand will not scale to billions of contact records. We use processing power and some really cool math to do the heavy lifting.

3) We provide consumers complete control of their contact information, and make it incredibly easy for consumers to see, edit and control their information, and whether that information gets passed to others. We’re also planning on allowing consumers to see who is accessing their information on a real-time basis — something we think is a first in our space.

Our vision of the future is one in which contact information “just works” – without any extra effort. Ambitious? You bet. But with your help, we can get there. So what are you waiting for? Try out one of the many apps built on the FullContact API or grab a free API key and give our system a spin.

As always, you can provide us feedback by emailing support@fullcontact.com.
