You are a great example of treating your employees as valuable assets to your company. If we could only talk our school districts into doing this for teachers…even if just once per career lifetime. :) Great job!

    Very nice, but this has been done before. It’s great while it lasts! First, the free bottled water and juices go away. Then the free lunches. Then the free gym memberships. Then the free child care. Then they start watching everyone’s time more carefully. Then they start insisting that everyone take a Blackberry or laptop home and on vacation…..there are articles about the cycle of a start-up. My wife worked for an ad agency with a whacky boss, he wore sneakers and went around shooting the employees with a water gun all day. He got a lot of good press, then poof…..doors locked and lights out one morning, and no sign of Goofy.

          sometimes we work very hard, including weekends – especially when we get bombarded by national media! that’s why we need to “completely go off the grid” for a week!

        Bart; From a retired sales manager. Your best people will always be your best people, your new people need mentorship from your best people. Happy employees will bring good employees to you and all will work hard when they hear “thanks for your hard work, I appreciate what you do for us, what is your ambition for promotion, are you ready for more responsibility and the biggest compliment an employee can hear is “you really make us shine in our customers eyes”. You started the ball rolling however it is your people that will make you grow, reap higher profits and attain and retain your clients. The very best of everything. Lastly, be humble.
